MATERIAL & JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE

Our jewellery is crafted using the finest, ethically sourced materials and designed for everyday wear.

Here are some quick and easy tips to take care of your jewellery made from different types of metal to prevent tarnishing, scratches and dullness.

GOLD FILLED

Comprises a base metal such as brass, that is coated with a minimum of 3 micron layer of gold. This type of coating is thicker than gold plated and gold vermeil jewellery. 14K Jewellery contains 58.3% gold while 18K Jewellery contains 75% gold.

  • Lasting gold finish (doesn't wear off as easily as gold plated jewellery)
  • Durable
  • Hypoallergenic

Care Guide for Gold Filled Jewellery

  • Avoid exercising and swimming in your gold filled jewellery, as the sweat, salt water and chlorine can cause damage
  • Avoid direct contact with chemicals like detergent
  • Apply perfumes and hairspray before wearing your gold vermeil pieces
  • Clean gold vermeil jewellery with a dry cloth
  • Store in our Eunoia Jewellery Pouch once removed

GOLD VERMEIL

Has Sterling Silver as its base material with a thicker layer of gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns (0.0025 mm) in thickness. This means that Gold Vermeil jewellery has a minimum of 41.7% gold. The Gold Vermeil pieces from Eunoia Jewellery Curator are either 14k or 18k and are stamped with "925".

GOLD PLATING

Contains 0.03-0.05% solid gold, and this thin gold layer is added onto the base metal via electroplating. The base metal is usually made of non-gold metals such as copper, brass and stainless steel. Our Waterproof Collection is made with medical grade stainless steel and with Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating. A vacuum coating process that creates a shiny finishing and resistance to corrosion from sweat and regular wear than gold plating.

Rose Gold Plated is made of yellow gold (75%) and a mix of silver and copper (25%).
White Gold Plated is made of yellow gold (75%) and a mixed palladium or nickel (25%).

  • Much more affordable
